Summary
| DescriptionAntokol ammunition bunkers 08.jpg |
Obecnie ostoja nietoperzy (i bezdomnych).
English: Ammunition bunkers from the interbellum located on Góry Sapieżyńskie above Antokol, one of Vilna's boroughs. Five large bunkers, incl. one two-storey, were built by the Polish Army's garrison of the city between 1923 and 1927. During World War II the ammunition bunkers were used by the Wehrmacht (hence remnants of Nazi eagles above the entrances). Nowadays the bunkers are abandoned and serve as a shelter for bats - and the homeless. |
