English: Cwm Eigiau Slate Quarry The abandoned levels of the slate quarry date from exploitation in the nineteenth century. Only a thin, steeply-inclined band of slate was available and it was of extremely poor quality - hence the extensive waste heaps when compared with the small excavation. |
