A beautiful half-geode with the most consistent red datolite you could ask for. These datolite nodules are quite rare in such quality, and highly prized by collectors who know their ins and outs. This one is a particularly fine piece for the red variety (the color is due to copper), and is from several prominent collections. I recently saw the exhibit of the Seaman Museum's specimens up in Michigan, and this would fit right in, for quality and visual impact, to their case of the best of them. Note it is so reflective a polish tha tyou can see my photographers reflection!
