| Description |
English: Disused Granite Quarry on the Slopes of Gyrn Ddu. This quarry used to be linked to a jetty by a transporter cable. In September 1943, an Avro Anson, LV152, hit the cable and fell into the sea with the loss of 3 of the 6 crew. The three survivors were rescued by Observer Corps volunteers from Trefor who rowed out in heavy seas and strong winds. The plane sank before the remaining three could be rescued. |
