ogiques du district de Porcu-pinte que les veines de quartz du district devaient se rat-tacher à une invasion granitique et que lénorme quantitéde quartz quon trouve dons les veines, est un produit dedifférentiation dun magma acide. Le quartz primaire desveines semble bien sêtre déposé sous pression, car il con-teint de nombreuses bulles gazeuses ou liquides. Lequartz a rempli les cassures rapidement, car il ny a générale-ment pas dépontes bien définies, sauf là où des mouve-ments secondaires se sont produits. Le quartz et la rochesont souvent fortement cimentés et le contact a tout àfait laspect dun contact intrusif. M. C. W. Knight a signalé la présence de feldspaths dansune veine de quartz de la propriété Miller-Middleton dusyndicat Timmins et croit devoir rattacher ce genre de veinesaux dykes de pegmatite ou au granité. On a retrouvé cemême feldspath qui est un plagioclase acide dans dautresveines notamment dans la veine No. 1 de la mine Hollinger 9.—^k. 7.

i3i la veine Rea et dans de nombreuses veines étroites desenvirons du lac Three Nations. Cest vers les épontes quele feldspath est le plus abondant. Les feldspaths des veinesde la mine Three Nations doivent être très voisins delalbite, daprès leur angle dextinction. Lanalyse chimiquea donné pour ces mêmes feldspaths: soude 10.37%; et po-tasse, 0.90%. On a trouvé de la scheelite (tungstate de chaux) danscertaines veines des environs du lac Pearl, sous forme deconstituant de première consolidation. On en a rencontréégalement mais en très petite quantité dans les mines Jupi-ter, Plenaurum, Mclntyre et Hollinger. Il est intéressantde remarquer que la scheelite est généralement associéeà des minéraux tels que la topaze, la cassiterite, la tourmalineet le mispickel dans des filons pegmatitiques se rattachantétroitement au granité. La présence de scheelite dans lesveines de Porcupine est un argument de plus pour loriginepegmatitique des veines du district. La tourmaline
