Deutsch: Falkensteiner Höhle, 4 km NE Bad Urach, Schwäbische Alb. Mit 10m sehr hohes Portal. Wasseraustritt am Portal nur noch episodisch (bei extrem hohem Niederschlag/Karstwasserspiegel). Ein Rinnsal sinkt 20m vom Höhleneingang im Innern entfernt durch ein Ponor in ein tieferes Karststockwerk und kommt wenig unterhalb dem Höhleneingang als Elsach zutage. English: Falkensteiner Höhle, 4 km NE of Bad Urach, Swabian Alb. Its portal of 10 m height documents its former relevance as a huge water cave. Today water emerges from the portal episodically only with extreme precipitation. A tiny runnel sinks down a Ponor within the cave, 20m from the cave’s entrance and exits as brook “Elsach” not far below the portal. |
