Im Hochwasserfall werden die Tore hydraulisch angehoben und vor die Tunneleinfahrten geschwenkt. Es gibt insgesamt acht Tore. In einer Hochwasserübung wurde die Funktion in der Nacht vom 11. zum 12. Sept. 2009 geprüft.
