DescriptionNewbold Tunnel on the Oxford Canal, Warwickshire - geograph.org.uk - 989154.jpg
English: Newbold Tunnel on the Oxford Canal, Warwickshire The tunnel length is illuminated with coloured lights, giving an eery "psychadelic" effect.
The tunnel is 250 yards (about 230 metres) long and was built during the straightening and shortening of the Oxford Canal in the late 1820s. It is fascinating to follow the course of the original meandering cut on the Google Map satellite images.
