Summary
DescriptionScaglia Rossa Furlo.JPG
English: Scaglia Rossa outcrop at Furlo, Central Apennine, Italy. Scaglia Rossa ("Red Scale") is a geological formation of Italy, composed by reddish-pinkish micrites intercalated with darker marls, and dating back to the Lower Turonian-Lower Lutetian interval (c. 93.9-45 mya). However, the layers here depicted are likely still Cretaceous, thus ranging between 93.9 and 65 mya.
