Summary
DescriptionThe Winder House at South Wheal Francis - geograph.org.uk - 533802.jpg
English: The Winder House at South Wheal Francis This building housed the engine which raised ore from the mine and moved men up and down the mine in the cage. This, in the first decade of the 20th century, was very different to the early 19th century operations when ore was often raised by a horse powered winder or "whim" and men climbed in and out of the mine by ladder.
