Mawsmai Cave is a natural limestone cave located near Cherrapunji in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, India. The cave extends approximately 150 meters in length, and was formed through the dissolution of limestone rock by chemical weathering over thousands of years. It consists of a series of interconnected passages with karst formations such as stalactites and stalagmites. The name "Mawsmai" originates from the Khasi language, with "Maw" meaning stone and "Smai" meaning oath.
